TOPEKA, Kansas (January 17, 2018) – Today the Sports Car Club of America® announced longtime member and autocrosser, John Hunter, as both the SoloMatters Editor and Starting Line Program Coordinator. In these roles, Hunter will be overseeing all SoloMatters content, as well as the continued development and day-to-day operations of the Starting Line program.
Having been an SCCA® member and autocross competitor since 2002, a Starting Line instructor since its inception, and current Nebraska Region Solo Chair, Hunter is excited to be working in these new roles. “I love the culture and passion the members of SCCA bring to the club. We come for the cars, but stay for the people. I am excited to share our members' stories and work as an ambassador to help the club go and grow.”
As SoloMatters Editor, Hunter will use his previous experience providing content for SportsCar magazine, as well as SCCA communication efforts to tell the stories of competition, community and camaraderie that define the sport.
In his role as Starting Line Program Coordinator, Hunter will work to help SCCA Regions to grow their membership base by introducing new members to passion of performance driving with the SCCA.
SCCA Director of Marketing, Heyward Wagner, believes it is Hunter’s connection to the Solo community that makes him a great fit for the role. “Thanks to his role as a Starting Line instructor, and years of attendance at Solo Nationals, John is becoming one of those members that knows a lot of the community, which is very valuable when looking for a SoloMatters story or a new Starting Line Instructor.”
